The HxSil C8 analytical guard column starter kit includes one guard column and two cartridges, and is used to protect an HPLC column (sold separately). The reusable guard column holder is used to secure the cartridge. It reduces the dead-volume and prevents extra column band broadening. The cartridge has silica packing material and is used with HxSil C8 analytical guard columns to extend the life span of an HPLC column by pre-filtering the sample to remove particulate contaminants and highly adsorptive compounds. It is 20mm long, has a 2.1mm inside diameter (ID), and filters 10-micron particles. The modular system provides tool-free cartridge replacement. The kit comes with one guard column holder and two cartridges.
