The entrance to the sample compartment is hemispherical to eliminate sharp corners which can cause sample loss due to capillary action. The amount of sample required to fill the sample chamber is reduced to a minimum, 15 to 20% greater than the sample chamber volume. The sample compartment optimizes the alignment of the sample for maximum sensitivity in the spectrophotometer. The sample is inserted and retrieved with a pipet. The cells have two polished windows and are supplied with a tight-sealing polypropylene cap and a Teflon cover. Exterior dimensions (W x L x H, mm): 12.5 x 12.5 x 45.
