The MP ouchterlony plate is designed for specific but low affinity antisera. Such antisera require properly spaced wells and olyethylene glycol in the agarose for optimal immuno-precipitation.
Each MP immunodiffusion plate contains 8 ouchterlony patterns consisting of a center well and 6 outer wells.
The plates are prepared especially for the MP polyclonal antisera to human IgG subclasses. When using these antisera for typing immunoglobulin subclasses in patients with myeloma , the sera must be diluted so that the background IgG does not produce visible precipitation.
Application Areas: Immunoassays
Product Type: Reagents
Components: The high quality immunodiffusion grade agarose contains 5% PEG which greatly enhances the sensitivity of the immunodiffusion assay. The plates contain 1.2% agarose (buffer - PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 0.01% merthiolate).
Sample Volume: 10 μL/ well
NOTES: No indicator
Storage & Handling: The plates have a shelf life of one year when stored at 2-8°C sealed in the original packet. Once opened the plate should be used as quickly as possible. If only some of the wells are used, a divider should be used or the used gel section removed to prevent spurious precipitin lines from encroaching upon adjacent ouchterlony patterns. The plates can be stored right side up at 2-8°C for up to two weeks if care is taken to avoid microbial contamination. Do Not Freeze.
