Babcock bottles serve as reaction vessels with a built-in graduated fat column. They are ideal for measuring the upper phase in separation determinations. All bottles are 165 mm high (except 6793E35: 229 mm high). Bottles are 37 mm in diameter to facilitate use with a centrifuge.
Milk Test, 8% Sealed (6793E15): Use with APHA 15.8 or AOAC 989.04. Has etched vertical line to anchor calipers. Marked with “Sealed 3” for state requirements.
Ice Cream Test, 10% (6793E19): Calibrated to 10% for testing butterfat.
Ice Cream/Half & Half Test, 20% (6793E23): Calibrated to 20%. Designed for use in APHA test procedures.
Creamed Cheese, 50% Sealed (6793E27): Calibrated to 50% for testing butterfat.
Cream, 50% Sealed (6793E31): Calibrated to 50% for testing butterfat content. Marked with “Sealed 3” for state requirements.
Cream Test, Tall Style, 50%/Unsulfonated residue petroleum plant spray oils (6793E35): Test butter fat content. Use with AOAC 920.111 and California Specs. Meets ASTM D 483
Cheese and Sour Cream, Paley, 20% (6793H15): Use with APHA 15.8. Has large stoppered opening for viscous materials. Includes three stoppers with each bottle.
Cheese, Paley, 50% (6793H20): Test butter fat content. Has etched vertical line to anchor calipers. Stoppered opening permits easy filling with solids or viscous materials. Includes three rubber stoppers with each bottle.
