Glucose Yeast HiVeg™ peptone agar is used for isolation of yeasts from soil specimens. Peptone provides nitrogenous nutrients especially the amino acids and peptides and yeast extract supply vitamin B complex. Dextrose is the readily available source of energy and a good carbohydrate source for yeasts.It is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.

- Appearance of powder: Light yellow colored, may have slightly greenish tinge, homogeneous, free flowing powder
- Gelling: Firm, comparable with 1.5% Agar gel
- Color and clarity: Light to medium amber colored, slightly opalescent gel forms in petri plates
