Crosstex offers Spore Threads for use in monitoring sterilization processes. Spore Threads consist of inoculated cotton thread, 25 mm x 0.1 mm, packaged in glassine peel pouches or in bulk. When packaged in glassine the packaging provides protection from environmental contaminants during transport post exposure. The Spore Threads can be easily removed from the glassine pouch by tearing or peeling the pouch open for transfer to culture media or challenge device assembly.
Spore Threads are packaged in shelf packs of 100 and labeled with a 24 month shelf-life. Store Spore Threads under room temperature conditions (15 - 30ºC). Each pack is accompanied by a certificate of analysis. Spore Threads are certified for population, purity, and resistance (D-value, Z-value, survival and kill where applicable). NAMSA’s Spore Threads are compliant with ANSI/AAMI/ISO/ EN 11138 series of standards and USP where applicable.
