The FT-IR Environmental Hydrocarbons Cyclohexane Application Pack contains all of the resources and components necessary to perform efficient analysis of oil in water through cyclohexane extraction using PerkinElmer FT-IR instruments.
This Environmental Hydrocarbons Application Pack contains:
- Two-port Leur Lock %T cell with CaF2 windows
- Package of 3 spare 0.5 mm Teflon spacers for the %T cell
- Two 2 mL Leur Lock syringes
- Liquid cell Leur connected waste tubing
- Environmental Hydrocarbons Touch Apps™ Software Kit
The Touch Apps Software Kit includes the software and SOPs to support routine measurement of oil and grease in water and soil samples by FT-IR spectroscopy. Spectrum Touch software provides a simplified, workflow-driven operating environment; for faster, more reproducible analyses.
The Touch Apps software is included for the following methods:
- ASTM D7066 (2004) – Oil is extracted into a hydrocarbon-free solvent and quantified by a transmission measurement.
- HATR method – Oil is extracted into a volatile solvent and the solvent is evaporated from the HATR crystal.
- Cyclohexane method – Oil is extracted into cyclohexane and quantified by a transmission measurement.
With this system, SOPs are provided for clear instructions for day-to-day use of the system. Calibration files are included to enable the system to be used with minimum setup overheads. Additionally, a User’s Guide is supplied with instructions for validation and maintenance of these calibrations, the preparation of samples, maintenance of the system, and customization of the Spectrum Touch applications.
