• Kimberly-Clark™ Brand to Kimtech™ Brand
• Addition of UDI compliant labels
• Country of Origin

Kimberly-Clark™ Brand to Kimtech™ Brand

Exam glove branding and packaging graphics will change from Kimberly-Clark™ to Kimtech™ Brand. This is intended to make it easier to select products that are designed specifically for critical environments.

Addition of UDI compliant labels

In order to identify medical devices through their distribution and use, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has established a unique device identification (UDI) system. As Class I medical devices, exam gloves will transition to new UDI-compliant labels as early as 2Q 2020. Exam glove case and dispenser labels will now include a UDI label in addition to the UPC label. The UDI-compliant label contains the traditional device identifier information (packaging level, company code, and product code) as well as the variable production identifier information (version, expiration date, and lot number). The new label will be both human readable and machine scannable.

Country of Origin

As mentioned in 2016, Kimberly-Clark Professional is expanding our glove manufacturing capacity. As such, exam gloves may be produced in Thailand or Malaysia.

NEW vs. OLD packaging

Customers should begin to receive product with the above mentioned changes as early as 2Q 2020 as inventories permit. The changes will not affect the gloves’ form, fit, or function. There is no change to the 5-digit ordering code.
