SMT manufactures ultra-stable cyanopropyl [CN] packings for normal and reversed-phase chromatographic separation modes. These columns have some special characteristics. When used in normal phase mode, with relatively nonpolar solvents, CN-stationary phase can separate many polar compounds just like silica. When used in reversed-phase mode, with relatively polar solvents, CN-stationary phase offers complimentary selectivity that may be unattainable with traditional reversed-phase packings such as C18 and C8.
