Sulfuric acid or sulphuric acid, also known as oil of vitriol, is a mineral acid composed of the elements sulfur, oxygen, and hydrogen, with the molecular formula H2SO4. It is a colorless and oily liquid that is miscible with water at all concentrations. It is soluble in water with the release of heat. It is corrosive to metals and tissue. It has a role as a catalyst. On contact, it will cause wood and other organic materials to char, but it is unlikely to start a fire. Inhalation of low or high doses for long periods of time can result in negative health effects. It's used to make fertilizers and other products, as well as in petroleum refining, iron and steel production, and a variety of other uses. Sulfurous Acid Trace Metal Grade acids are distilled using proprietary technology that can produce the purest acids for trace metal analysis in the world. The entire process is controlled by sophisticated, state-of-the-art automation paired with next-generation process controls and analytics that ensure the highest quality material with minimal variation. Veritas Trace PPB Acids will be tested for 65 elements with the maximum allowed specification of 1 PPB for any one element. PPB Grade Acids are packaged in special HDPE bottles. Synonyms for Sulfuric Acid: Vitriol, Oil of Vitriol, and Sulphuric Acid. Sulfuric Acid, PPB Grade, and Veritas Trace are available in 500 mL and 2.5 L. GFS Chemicals is ISO 9001-2015 Certified.
