General description: Heptafluorobutyric anhydride (HFB) is a derivatizing reagent. It provides facile and sensitive way for detecting and elucidating structure of numerous alkyl-chain homologs.
Application: GC derivatizing agent used to prepare volatile derivatives of amino acids and other biologically active compounds.
Application: HFB was used as derivatizing agent in analysing platelet-activating factor using GC-MS.
Other Notes: Reagent for heptafluorobutyrate, 3-enol heptafluorobutyrate, 17-heptafluorobutyrate, heptafluorobutyrate and heptafluorobutyryl.
