Application: Anti-eIF4E antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for the following applications: . Immunocytochemistry at a concentration of 5-10mug/mL using paraformaldehyde-fixed 3T3 cells . Immunoprecipitation at a concentration of 2-5muL using HeLa cell lysates . Western blotting at a concentration of 0.5-1mug/mL using HeLa cell lysates
Biochem/physiol Actions: Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E is a protein encoded by the EIF4E gene in humans. It is located on human chromosome 20. High level of eIF4E is associated with an increased risk for systemic metastasis in node-positive breast cancer. eIF4E over expression is also associated with a higher incidence of metastasis to multiple sites and acts as a marker for molecular events that increases risk for systemic dissemination. It is also involved in maintaining cell proliferation.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 21-37 of human eIF4E, conjugated to KLH via a C-terminal added cysteine residue. The sequence is conserved in human, rat, and mouse.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, and 15 mM sodium azide.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
