Application: Anti-FOXA1 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for indirect immunofluorescence at a dilution of 1:100-1:200 using MCF7 cells fixed with paraformaldehyde-Triton. It is also suitable for western blotting at a dilution of 1:250-1:500 using extracts of the MCF7 cell line.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Forkhead box protein A1 (FOXA1) is a protein encoded by the FOXA1 gene in humans and is a member of the FOX family of transcription factors. It exhibits the greatest extent of mitotic chromosome binding. FOXA1 is involved in embryonic development and cell differentiation. It promotes cell proliferation by androgen receptor (AR) and activates Notch pathway. FOXA1 acts as a negative regulator in the initial stages of lung cancer metastasis. It may modulate the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition through its transcriptional regulatory network. FOXA1 has been implicated in certain tumor types including breast, prostate, lung, thyroid and esophageal squamous cell carcinomas. It might act as a potential regulator of progression of human glioma.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 441-459 of human FOXA1, conjugated to KLH via a N-terminal cysteine residue.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosÂphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
