Application: Forms aminopropyl derivative of glass, an adsorbent for affinity chromatography. Used to prepare positively charged slides suitable for use with various immunohistochemical and in situ hybridization procedures. Recently (3-Aminopropyl)triethoxysilane has been used to prepare dye-doped silica nanoparticles with minimal aggregation and minimal nonspecific binding with biomolecules.
Application: Used in a preparation of a series of tenary composite films of polyimide/SiO/polydiphenylsiloxane with good optical transparency.
