Hot-Start Taq Mastermix™ is the heat activated version of Denville's 2X, ready to go reaction mixture. It is inactive at room temperature and only requires addition of template, primers, and water. A 5 minute pre-heat step at 95°C is required to successfully carry out primer extensions.
The Blue version contains a non-toxic, non-hazardous inert blue dye, which allows users to ensure adequate mixing and acts as a loading buffer following completion of the PCR reaction.
