Resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxy-transstilbene), a polyphenol phytoalexin, possesses divers biochemical and physiological actions, including estrogenic, antiplatelet, and anti-inflammatory properties. Resveratrol upon an oral dose is almost completely conjugated to its glucuronide and sulfate metabolites. Thus, glucuronidated and sulfated forms of resveratrol appears to be the main metabolites in humans.
