The Glucronidase solution is used for the hydrolysis of glucuronide conjugates in urinary metabolite analysis. beta Glucuronidase from helix pomatia is more effective than the other glucuronidase derivatized solutions in hydrolyzing steriod glucuronides.
The enzyme solution is derived from the Roman snail. One unit or modified Fishman unit will liberate 1.0 micrograms of phenolphthalein from phenophthalein glucuronide per hour at pH 5.0 and 37°C
