For calibrating or verifying the accuracy of thermometers using methods given in NIST Monograph 150
System incorporates two cylindrical baths: an ice bath for calibrating thermometers at ice point (0°C, 32°F) and a heated water and oil bath for calibrating thermometers over range 3° to 100°C
Temperature of heated bath is indicated on LED readout to 0.1°C
Proportioning type controller maintains bath temperature to ±0.025°C over entire operating range
Heated bath is designed for use with water covered by a layer of silicone oil to inhibit evaporation
Heat-up time 17 minutes to 50°C, 60 minutes to 100°C
Turntable rack at top of bath chamber takes up to ten thermometers size 5 to 8 mm diameter. Controls include on-off switch with pilot light, switch for selecting readout of set point or bath temperature, locking adjustment knob for setting temperature and pilot light, which indicates operation of heaters. Usable at ambient temperatures from 17° to 27°C (63° to 80.6°F) and relative humidity of 20 to 80%. Housing is enameled metal.
Overall dimensions 289 x 324 x 292 mm high. Uniformity ±0.025°C. Total system accuracy ±0.2°C. Digital readout accuracy ±0.5°C. Includes two thermometer magnifiers, 1-pint container of silicone oil, two 1.8 meter lengths of Nalgene™ plastic tubing, bath overflow container and one 76 mm immersion thermometer with a Factory Calibration Certificate. With 3-wire cord and plug for 120 volts, 60 Hz.
