Precise Controlled Atmosphere glove boxes provide users with a leak-proof environment for working with contamination-sensitive materials.
Typical applications include procedures where low levels of oxygen moisture are important such as working with organometallics, alternative energy cells or hydrophilic chemicals.
All models feature a one-piece molded medium-density polyethylene shell with a dry powder epoxy-coated steel superstructure. An easily removable 1/4” thick laminated safety glass viewing window measures 26.4” W x 12.5” H. The main chamber offers approximately 13 cu. ft. of interior space while the transfer chamber has an 11.0” nominal ID and is 12” long.
Box has a pair of 0.15” thick, size 93/4 neoprene gloves that are 30” in length. Precise Basic Glove Boxes meet Class 1 atmosphere containment conditions for oxygen leak rates per ISO 10648-2 test method.
Boxes have six manual valves with 3/8” compression fitting and 3/8” hose barbs. Two on the main glove box and two on the transfer chamber are for purging and filling. The two remaining valves on the main glove box are for drying train connections.
Glove boxes are factory leak tested with a mass spectrometer while glove box is pressurized with helium at 5 in. of water gauge. No detectable leaks greater than 1 x 104 mL/sec are allowed.
Main chamber has a pressure gauge with readings from -5 to +5 inches of water while the transfer chambers pressure gauge reads from 0 to -29 in of mercury.
