Meter can be carried in a pocket or hand and used whenever and wherever wind speed needs to be determined. Unit can measure wind speed, average wind speed and maximum wind speed. Speed can be measured in feet per minute, miles per hour, kilometers per hour, meters per second or knots. Anodized aluminum impeller is mounted in jewel bearings which are shock-mounted in glass-reinforced plastic. Impeller housing can be popped out and replaced when impeller becomes worn or damaged. Hard case slips on and off easily and protects the display and all moving parts from damage. Auto shutdown after 30 minutes conserves battery.
