FirstLight™ uniform UV illuminator allows you to achieve superior data results from greater ultraviolet uniformity of stained gels and samples. Its patented design produces <6% coefficient of variance (CV) across the imaging surface to capture high quality images for documentation and QA.
Uniform illumination ensures little or no reliance on uniformity correction by software that can lead to low signal data loss. It also provides for straight forward gel-to-gel comparison. Fluorescent stains used in post-electrophoresis analysis of proteins and nucleic acids have significant excitation peaks with UV (300-385 nm) light, making midrange 302 nm UV the excitation source of choice for high sensitivity analysis for many fluorophores.
Applications range from DNA and protein gel documentation and analysis to In Vivo imaging.
