150 µL max. wall volume (when used with cap strips)
Skirt can be labeled or bar-coded
Fits most thermal cyclers and the MegaBACE capillary sequencer
Stackable
Low-profile design enhances efficiency. Plates are within SBS footprint recommendations. Eight holes in the skirt facilitate plate positioning and removal from the frame cycler block.
twin.tec PCR Plate 96, semi-skirted
Minimal bending of skirts
Semi-skirt can be labeled or bar-coded
Suitable for quantitative real-time PCR
Fits most thermo cyclers including ABI GeneAmp 9700
250 µL max. well volume (when used with cap strips)
twin.tec PCR Plate 384
U-shaped well contour for easy identification
Minimal bending of skirts
Suitable for many 384-well thermal cyclers
45 µL max. well volume
Continuous skirt for compatibility with automated systems

Eppendorf twin.tec PCR plates are manufactured using “twin-shot technology” an innovative injection mold process that combines two of the best performing materials: virgin polypropylene for the wells and polycarbonate, an especially rigid material, forms the plate deck and skirt. Polycarbonate provides mechanical stability and it facilitates handling of plates. The enhanced stiffness offers improved plane parallelism in the plate deck before, during and after a PCR, and it ensures a more accurate seal. Plates also offer 20% reduction in wall thickness compared to standard thin-walled tubes. This provides a snug fit for the walls against the thermal blocks and it ensures virtually undisturbed heat transfer from the block to the sample. All commonly used sealing methods — cap strips, adhesive films and foils — can be applied to twin.tec PCR plates for heat sealing and ultimate protection against evaporation.
