Ideal for a variety of industries including cosmetics, biology, dermatology, forestry, marine biology and environmental studies, meter provides users with detectors for measuring two characteristics of UV radiation. The Sunburning Ultraviolet (SUV) detector gives accurate intensity readings of the sunburning effect from sunlight or artificial light sources. Intensity of SUV is shown in Minimal Erythema Doses (MED) per hour, the accepted clinical measure for sunburn potential. A UVA detector measures UV in the range between 320 and 400 nm, displaying UVA intensity in milliwatts per square centimeter. Meter comes with a hold function to freeze the present reading and auto-off which shuts off the unit after eight minutes with near zero reading.
