Unit offers several practical advantages over other models. Smooth, rounded corners do not chip or scratch and resist damage from other instruments. Surface finish is both durable and easy to clean. The entire instrument may be autoclaved. The smooth, consistent movements of the manipulator and superior bushings make this instrument easy to operate.
Instrument has a laser-etched grid for probe alignment and verification. Vernier scales on each axis allow reading to 0.1 mm. The scale numbers are oriented for user convenience and laser engraved with extremely fine lines for maximum alignment. Solid, reliable locks allow the universal joint to be titled in one plane and secured to prevent slipping or accidental movement. Probes can be aligned in either the AP plane or the ML plane.
Entire unit is electrically groundable from a single point. The movement/rotation is faster than others, but easily aligned to 0.1 mm. The standard ear bars have a 45-degree taper into the ear, avoiding puncture of the tympanic membrane. Configurations and accessories for mouse, rat and other species are available. A selection of probe holders is also available.
