Graduations on scales read in both directions on their corresponding verniers to indicate whether the measured force is upward or downward. A platinum iridium ring suspends from a vertical limb of an articulated parallelogram, a corner of which clamps on to a fine torsion wire. A jaw-type clamp holds parallelogram in place while ring is being installed or removed. Includes one tensiometer ring (9149G10) and one torsion wire.
