The 1111U18 is one of our most popular buttons because of its versatility for chronic implantation. Available in a variety of models from simple transcutaneous access to attaching a tether or electrical connection. The 1111U18 is used for exteriorizing catheters or wires and has a small chamber where the end of the catheter can be stored and sealed with the snap-on cap. Tether caps allow the same 1111U18 to connect to a tether when periodic infusions are to be made. The 1111U33 allows the attachment of a sub-miniature six conductor electrical connector for quick and easy rat studies.

1111U39 & U36

The 1111U36 port simplifies yet extends the use of small laboratory animals for chronic studies requiring the repetitive administration of solutions and/or withdrawal of biological fluid samples. Skin ports are particularly useful for the intravenous administration of solutions over extended periods to mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters and other small animals. Mouse diaphragm skin port can also provide for catheters to other specific body cavities for testing the safety and efficacy of drugs such as anti-neoplastic agents.

The skin port has a small chamber under the diaphragm that communicates with the hypodermic tubing side port. The diaphragms are easily replaced and spare caps are available. In the luer port, the diaphragm and threaded retainer are replaced with either a male or female luer port and corresponding cap. The luer connection communicates directly with the hypodermic tubing side port. Port is useful for catheterizing other locations in the mouse or other animal such as the oral cavity, digestive or urinary tract. This skin port can also be connected to a tether and swivel system.
