Results are expressed as time in seconds for the liquid to flow through the orifice until the first break in the efflux stream. Time in seconds may be converted to centistokes. The body is machined from solid bar aluminum and the orifice is made of stainless steel. All cups are calibrated against standard oils referenced to certified NIST oils.
