The clear lid protects fractions or samples from airborne contaminants or frost build-up during freezer storage. The system permits the vertical storage of numerous racks in the space normally used to store a single rack.

The container lid utilizes a unique hinge design that permits its complete removal from the work area by lifting the lid straight up. The user may also rotate the lid back locking the hinge into place. In this configuration the lid is conveniently attached to the container base but is positioned out of the working area of the microtube rack. Overall dimensions 9 5/8 L x 3 1/2 W x 2 1/8 H inches; temperature range -90°C to +120°C.
