Slower speeds are steady and reproducible since they are not achieved by sacrificing voltage input to the motor. Aluminum cap, when in place, reduces speed over entire range of speed control. Heavy gauge, stainless steel housing, overall 127 mm diameter x 102 mm high, with rubber feet. Swing-arm clamp permits stirrer to be swung aside for easy removal of vessels from assemblies. Clamp fits support rods up to 12.8 mm o.d. Clamp can also be used to place stirrer so that center line is from 76 to 114 mm from rod. Shaded-pole-type motor has permanently lubricated bearings. Alnico V driving magnet dynamically balanced on motor shaft. Rheostat dial has reference graduations from 1 to 9 and OFF position. Includes speed-reducing cap and three-wire cord and plug. Stirrers rated for 60 Hz operation, but can be used on 50 Hz current with corresponding reduction in speed. Stirring bars not included.
