8/16-SLIDE HELLENDAHL STAINING JAR

Made of soda-lime glass
With eight slots, each of which takes two 3” x 1” slides placed back to back. Used in the Carbol Fuchsin method for staining tubercle bacilli in sputum smeared on the lower two-thirds of the slide, the upper third reserved for labeling. Flared top reminder to observe proper level when filling; also permits slides to be grasped by fingers and ensures more positive grip for carrying.
Note: Staining jars are not autoclavable. Not intended for use at temperatures below 15°C or above 80°C.
