Baker-flex® Coated TLC Silica Gel Sheets
- Ready-to-use plastic sheets, 50 x 200 mm or 200 x 200 mm, with absorbent coating, which is abrasion-resistant and highly uniform; are easily cut to desired size and allow sample fraction to be cut rather than scraped
- The silica gel and aluminum oxide sheets have coating approximately 200 microns (0.2 mm) thick, affording considerably larger sample capacity than thinner coatings commonly used for flexible TLC plates
- Lightweight plastic substrate is unbreakable and resists attack by reagents and solvents
- Offered with a variety of absorbent coatings, with and without binder and indicator which fluoresces under 254 nm radiation
- Coatings are of high-purity silica gel, aluminum oxide or cellulose powders
- The inert binder and indicator used permit sulfuric acid heat treatment of silica gel and aluminum oxide chromatograms without charring
- Contains inert binder
- Sheets with suffix “F” contain fluorescent indicator
- Coating of types SG/IB2 and SG/IB2-F has better resistance to chloroform-methanol mixtures and other solvents
