This innovative stirring bar has a 30 x 8mm Teflon® coated polygon stirring bar that spins freely within a polystyrene capsule. The capsule can be used to prevent damage to gels during staining/destaining procedures and keeps the bar from spinning off center for efficient stirring and damaging pH probes or other equipment in the mixing vessel. The capsule also keeps the spinning bar from being impeded by sticky gels that may develop while dissolving chemicals in water. After use, the capsule can be easily disassembled for cleaning.
