- Reduces protein and nucleic acid binding
- Minimizes molecular interactions
- Reduces anti-fluorescence
- Treated or untreated versions
The Corning® low flange 384 well black clear bottom microplates are available in both standard tissue culture treated surface for cell based assays and NBS™ Surface or untreated surface for homogeneous assays. Nonbinding (NBS) surface is a Corning proprietary treatment technology used on polystyrene microplates to create a non-ionic hydrophilic surface (polyethylene oxide-like) that minimizes molecular interactions. Microplates are suitable for reducing protein and nucleic acid binding at low concentrations and increasing assay signal to noise.
Non-treated (or medium binding) polystyrene surface is hydrophobic in nature and binds biomolecules through passive interactions. Microplates are suitable primarily for the immobilization of large molecules, such as antibodies, that have large hydrophobic regions that can interact with the surface. Untreated micropolates have a binding capacity of 100 to 200 ng lgG/cm2.
Each well offers 6.16 mm2 flat growth area making it ideal for miniaturized 384 well fluorescent cell based assays. Total well volume is 112 µL
Black wall plates have reduced auto-fluorescence, higher signal to background ratio and lower CV’s while enhanced flatness provides low intra- and inter-plate CV’s. Conforms to standard microplate footprint and dimensions.
