Propper BI-OK® self-contained biological indicators for Steam and EO gas are designed for sterilization efficacy monitoring in hospitals, clinics, and for industrial applications. After processing in a sterilization cycle and activation of media by crushing the glass vial, indicators need to be incubated at 57°C for steam and 37°C for EO Gas indicators. A color change in the media will indicate spore growth and sterilization failure.
The Steam BI-OK® indicator is suitable for use in a standard AAMI linen pack or in the Bio-Challenge Test-Pak® for monitoring pre-vacuum and gravity displacement sterilizers. The EO gas indicator is designed for use in a recommended EO challenge pack which consists of a plastic syringe, with the needle end open, placed in a cotton towel. The towel is then placed in one peel pouch or wrapper, or in other packs that meet AAMI requirements.
