Due to the limited chemical resistance of polycarbonate, autoclavable bottles are recommended only for use with water and non-hazardous aqueous solutions. Also usable with dilute acids and some alcohols; not usable with strong acids, bases, aldehydes, ketones, esters, hydrocarbons, etc.
CAUTION: when autoclaving large batches, make sure cycle is set so that contents reach proper autoclaving temperature. Before autoclaving, set cap on top of carboy without engaging threads.
