Useful for testing glass, plastics, resins or coatings
- Abbe number (vD and vE) measurement
- Easy to use
- Digital accuracy
Model DR-M2 (1.3000-1.7100 nD) and Model DR-M4 (1.4700-1.8700 nD) Abbe refractometer's feature large, menu-driven LCD, primary and secondary prisms, color compensation and adjustment, large measurement dial, focusable eyepiece, desiccant case and drain nozzle. Prism temperature is controlled by water circulation through the primary and secondary prisms and is shown on the LCD. They can measure at 589 or 546 nm with the two interference filters supplied with the instrument and are capable of operating at wavelengths from 480 to 1100 nm. These models are especially suited to laboratories testing optical glass and plastic materials, resins, coatings or any other material requiring measurement at other than 589 nm. Automatic, digital readout of Abbe number can be accomplished in four easy steps using the 589 nm interference filter included with the instrument and optional filters. With the optional polarizing eyepiece, the DR-M series can test samples exhibiting double refraction (bifringence). Supplied with: external light source, light support, light guide, power cord, (2) interference filters (589 and 546 nm), 1.5163 nD glass standard (DR-M2) or 1.6200 nD glass standard (DR-M4), proper contact liquid, lighting glass for film measurement, halogen lamp, tubing band, Allen wrench and instruction manual.
