The probe consists of a tiny thermistor mounted within a thin 25 mm disk made of silicone rubber. When the probe is inserted between the plates of a dynamic shear rheometer and the probe wires are connected to an accurate ohmmeter, temperatures may be measured to an accuracy of ±0.05°C. Supplied with a calibration certificate and instructions for use.
