OptiCell™ cell culture format is for growing, monitoring, and transporting cells. It has two parallel gas-permeable, cell culture treated polystyrene membranes attached to a standard microtiter plate-sized frame. Each side has a growth area of 50 cm2- a total 100 cm2 on 75 µm thick membranes, 2 mm apart. System is barcoded for easy tracking and automation handling. System’s thin profile design maximizes incubator space and reduces media consumption and the recommended media/cell fill volumes are 10 mL for the OptiCell™ and 30 mL for the OptiCell™ MAX. Two resealing access ports provide closed growth environment with sterile fluid path, reducing risk of contamination. Applications include transportation of live cells, short-term freezing and thawing of cells, cell imaging and staining, transfection and Hybridoma antibody production (OptiCell™ MAX). The OptiCell™ 1100 Starter Kit contains 20 OptiCell™ 1100’s, 1 rack, 1 knife, 2 caps, an optical shield and a mini-CD. The OptiCell™ MAX 2100 Starter Kit contains five OptiCell™ Max 2100’s, 1 rack, 50 insertion tips, a manual and a Hybridoma Ab production protocol. The OptiCell™ Mailer Kit contains five of the OptiCell™ 1100, 50 insertion tips, five OptiCell™ Mailers, a manual and a shipping protocol.
