APIEZON W Vacuum Sealing and Mounting Wax
- Versatile, soft, putty-like sealing medium is easily molded into any shape, yet firm enough to remain in position
Excellent for leak sealing and shielding or blanking off sections of apparatus. Suitable for sealing of unground joints or temporary additions to vacuum systems. Vapor pressure 1 x 10-4 mm Hg. Softening point: 45°C. Site of application should remain between -10 and +30°C.
- For the rigid permanent or semi-permanent sealing of joints in high vacuum systems down to 4.5 x 10-9 mm Hg @ 20°C or at a small positive pressure
- Will seal against liquid water, water vapor and atmospheric moisture
- Chemically inert and resistant to etching fluids; can be used as a protective coating on printed circuits; is easily removed using hydrocarbon or chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents
Vapor pressure at 4.5 x 10-9 mm Hg at 20°C. Softening point 85°C. Heat to 145°C for application. Packages contain 25 x 20 g sticks.
