The Micro-Perfusion Pump is a miniature, single or dual, channel, full-featured peristaltic pump designed for specific ranges of flow rates conducive to microscopy. Unlike most peristaltic pumps that are driven by stepper motors, the Micro-Perfusion Pump is driven by a tachometer regulated, multi-stage DC gear motor. This assures a smooth analog rotation of the roller spindle, free of instantaneous steps.
The Problem: When imaging cells in any structure such as a chamber having a coverslip as an observation surface, one must appreciate the fact that any rapid changes in flow rate will translate to micro-dynamic changes in pressure within the dish causing the coverslip to react like a diaphragm forcing the specimen to go out of focus with each step.
The Solution: To eliminate this problem at the lower flow rates and significantly reduce it at higher flow rates, Bioptechs recommends the model Delta T Micro-Perfusion Pump for use with all its micro-observation systems. This Delta T Micro-Perfusion Pump is a miniature, dual channel, full-featured peristaltic pump designed specifically for low-flow rates. Unlike most peristaltic pumps that are driven by stepper motors, the Delta T Micro-Perfusion Pump is driven by a tachometer regulated, multi-stage DC gear motor. This assures a smooth analog rotation of the roller spindle, free of instantaneous steps. It is regulated by either the internal control circuitry adjustable from 0.8 µL/min to 18 ml/min (dependent on pump model). The pump comes with a 9 volt AC adapter and also contains an internal 9 volt battery which can function as the primary power supply if needed. The most efficient tubing size for Delta T applications is 0.031 ID. The pump tubes are available in silicone rubber and C-Flex. They are terminated with a 1/16" tubing barb. The base of the pump is threaded for easy mounting to a stand or fixture near the microscope. An optional rod mounting clamp is available for mounting to a 1/2" rod.To prevent a culture dish from overflowing, the tubing in the pump head has two different inside diameters. Therefore, you can simply apply media to the dish at a rate slower than it is aspirated away. To control the level in the dish, simply adjust the height of the aspiration tube.

Micro-Perfusion Pump Rod Mounting Clamp
The Micro-Perfusion Pump Rod Mounting Clamp provides a method of mounting perfusion pumps onto conventional 1/2" support post. Makes positioning perfusion pumps adjacent to the microscope easy and convenient.
Order tube sets separately. Tube sets are not included with pump.
