Lab Water Baths

Laboratory water baths provide a controlled environment for heating and maintaining the temperature of samples. Scientific water baths have a container filled with water, heating elements, or circulating pumps to control the temperature. Use of water baths are common commonly used for applications such as heating reagents, melting or thawing samples, incubating cultures, or conducting reactions that require a specific temperature. Lab water baths can also be suitable for warming media or maintaining the temperatures of a sample. Available in various sizes and types, including analog or digital, some options include built-in temperature controls. Bath tanks and medical water baths should be placed on a stable surface and handled carefully to prevent spills and burns. The bath temperature should be monitored and controlled to prevent overheating and damage to samples or equipment.
