Thomas Large Chamber Muffle Furnaces

Muffler furnaces feature a large 1.6 cubic foot capacity chamber and two supplied accessory refractory shelves triple the usable working area. Both furnaces have heating elements located on top, bottom and sides for rapid heating and temperature uniformity. Two built-in vent ports remove contaminants and moisture and extend the life of the elements and the unit. Safety features include a door safety switch that cuts power to the heating elements when door is opened. The rear of the chamber has a 0.38” in diameter port where a measuring device can be inserted for independent temperature monitoring. No power cord is supplied with furnace because the electrical connection requires fixed wiring. Units are available with a choice of controls. Model 5300M40 features a digital setpoint control with a single ramp to setpoint and a dwell. A single display shows actual temperature or setpoint. Model 5300M45 features a digital programmable control and is available with four stored programs with 16 segments per program.  Applications include annealing glass, determination of volatiles, catalyst research and ashing pulp and paper samples.
