Traps solvent vapors
Fume Adsorber is designed for histology cover slipping and staining areas and uses activated carbon media to adsorb annoying odors and noxious vapors such as xylene and toluene. Solvent vapors are trapped in the capillary-like channels of the carbon filter while clean air is recirculated into the laboratory. The Fume Adsorber requires no ducting to the outside and is completely portable. It includes one replaceable six pound (2.7 kg) type AC activated carbon filter. The filter holds 20 to 50 times its own weight of adsorbable vapors to levels below the threshold of smell, well below the flammability level. Blower and carbon filter are housed in an epoxy-coated steel cell, which is louvered in front for efficient air flow. Enclosure is clear, one-piece shatter-resistant acrylic, 3/8” thick. Unit comes complete with wiring, switch, an 8-foot, three-wire cord and plug.
The Fume Adsorber-2 is similar to the unit described above except it includes two replaceable six pound (2.7 kg) type AC activated carbon filters.
