Lucifer Yellow CH is the hydrazine (-NH-CO-NH-NH2) form of the dye compared to Lucifer Yellow VS, which is the vinyl sulfone (-Ph-SO2-CH=CH2) form. It is a highly fluorescent dye useful in marking nerve cells.
Lucifer yellow CH has been used to demonstrate electrical coupling between hamster oocytes and cumulous cells during meiotic maturation in vivo and in vitro. This product can be used in staining nerve cells.
