Donor Horse Serum is serum collected aseptically from healthy equines. The serum is separated aseptically from the blood of the animal and allowed to spontaneously clot. Horse serum can be combined with fetal bovine serum for the culture of rat adrenal pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells, and is often used in testing media for mycoplasma contamination.
