Application: Insulin solution human is recommended for use in cell culture applications at 0.5 to 1mL per liter of medium.Insulin solution human has been used for insulin tolerance test in mice and rats. It has also been used for adipogenic differentiation of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs)-derived outgrowth cultures and hMSCs (human mesenchymal stromal cells).
Biochem Physiol Actions: Two-chain polypeptide hormone produced by the beta-cells of pancreatic islets. Its molecular weight is ~5800 Da. The alpha and beta chains are joined by two interchain disulfide bonds. The alpha chain contains an intrachain disulfide bond. Insulin regulates the cellular uptake, utilization, and storage of glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids and inhibits the breakdown of glycogen, protein, and fat.
