YNB is a well defined composition of salts and vitamins for a vigorous growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
YNB w/o Ammonium Sulfate w/o Folic acid w/o Riboflavin is a component of synthetic defined yeast media.
Reagents are tested and chosen for their ability to promote optimum growth of S. cerevisiae when combined in YNB formulations. Chosen reagents are combined in the proper proportions according to the formulation and thoroughly blended for a uniform distribution.
Add 1.7 g/L YNB w/o Ammonium Sulfate, plus a nitrogen source and a carbon source, the approproate amino acids, and agar if necessary to make your own SD yeast media.
Key Applications: Create synthetic defined yeast media with YNB, carbon source, appropriate amino acids, and agar if necessary
