MGB Alert® HHV-6 ASR

HHV-6 causes “sixth disease”, and is associated with a wide range of diseases, including multiple sclerosis. Immunosuppressed people, such as organ or HSC transplant recipients, are especially at risk for severe diseases such as encephalitis.¹ The MGB Alert® HHV-6 2.0 primer mix ASR ^§ amplifies, while the probe mix ASR detects, nucleic acids within the U67 gene of human herpesvirus 6 (including 6A and 6B).
