All blood products should be treated as potentially infectious. Source material from which this product was derived was found negative when tested in accordance with current FDA required tests. No known test methods can offer assurance that products derived from human blood will not transmit infectious agents. The total protein is determined using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. Each vial is overfilled by approximately 5 percent so that a minimum of 500 mg of human IgG is obtained upon reconstitution.
Human IgG is purified from pooled human serum using multi-step procedures which may include salt fractionation, gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography and immunoabsorption. The product is dialyzed into 0.01M sodium phosphate, 0.07M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, filtered through a 0.22 μm filter, vialed and lyophilized from a 30 ml solution. No preservative has been added.
Purified Human IgG is suitable for use as a positive control in antibody identification screening techniques, and is recommended as an ELISA coating antigen and control.

Reconstitution: This product can be reconstituted to 10 - 25 mg/mL, as desired. Sterile water or 0.01M sodium phosphate, 0.07M sodium chloride, pH 7.3 can be used. Gentle swirling may be used to speed rehydration. Avoid vigorous shaking of the reconstituted material.
Purity: Greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE
Assay: The product is tested for purity at a minimum of 20 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is human IgG; no trace of IgA, IgM or non-immunoglobulin serum proteins is detected.
