TESTED AGAINST BOTH SENSITIVE and RESISTANT CELLS.
Spectinomycin Dihydrochloride Pentahydrate
MOLECULAR BIOLOGY GRADE
Spectinomycin is an aminocyclitol antibiotic which acts by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome and inhibiting protein synthesis. Its activity is generally modest, particularly against gram-positive bacteria. Some gram-negative bacteria are sensitive. Resistance in vitro may develop by chromosomal mutation or may be plasmid mediated.
